Chuchu Benz Foundation Holds First Official Give Back in Trench Town, Jamaica
A Homecoming With Purpose
On September 19, 2026, the Chuchu Benz Foundation held its first official Give Back in Trench Town, Jamaica—the community where Chuchu Benz grew up and where so much of his story began.
What unfolded was more than an event. It was a homecoming.
Friends, families, neighbors and children came together for an afternoon of food, laughter, play and connection. For Chuchu, it was a return to the community that helped shape him. For the Foundation, it marked the beginning of something we hope will grow for many years to come.
A Day of Community, Laughter and Connection
From the moment we arrived, the energy was incredible. Children filled the playground, families and neighbors gathered together, and the afternoon quickly became exactly what we hoped it would be—people simply enjoying time together.
There was great food, plenty of laughter and hours of play. Kari and I found ourselves right in the middle of it, playing with the kids, talking with families and reconnecting with people from the community.
The children were especially excited. They ran, jumped, played on the inflatables and seemed determined to make sure the adults joined in too. By the end of the day, we weren’t standing on the sidelines watching an event—we were part of it.
That’s the kind of connection we want the Chuchu Benz Foundation to build upon: showing up, spending time together, listening, and growing relationships that last beyond a single day.
Coming Home to Trench Town, Jamaica
For Chuchu, this first Give Back was deeply personal. Trench Town isn’t simply a place the Foundation chose to serve. It’s home. It’s where Chuchu grew up, where lifelong friendships were formed, and where many of the people who knew him long before there was a Chuchu Benz Foundation still live today.
Returning with the Foundation brought those worlds together—Chuchu’s history, the community that helped shape him, and a new effort built around service, opportunity and giving back.
That spirit of giving back isn’t something Chuchu switches on for Foundation events. It’s simply part of who he is. He notices when someone needs help, looks for what he can do, and gets to work. The Foundation gives that instinct a way to grow—bringing more people together, reaching more families and turning everyday acts of care into something that can have a lasting impact.
Just the Beginning
September 19 was our first official Give Back, but it was never meant to be a one-day event. It was a starting point.
We learned a lot. We saw needs we want to do more to address, met people we want to keep working alongside, and came away with an even clearer understanding of what this Foundation can become.
Our goal is simple: keep showing up. We want to build on the relationships that already exist, listen to the communities we serve, and turn support into practical help that makes a real difference for children and families.
There is more work ahead—in Jamaica, in Anguilla, and wherever this journey takes us. We’ll share that work openly as it happens: the successes, the lessons, the people behind it and the stories that deserve to be told.
This was the first one. It definitely won’t be the last.
One Love. More Love. Prosperity for all.
